Cool beans.

So, I have only mentioned it in passing but I happen to be working on a film right now. That film, temporarily titles 'Food For Thought' stars a obese man who has a love for sugary sweets who gets pulled into a magical candy land and if forced to deal with it's none-to-cheery citizens. This is my 3rd Year Group Project and I am working with an amazing group of people. We go by the name of the 'Classy Asses'.

I am not going to be posting too much film stuff on there has I want to be able to present it in it's final state when everything is said and done. This term will also be about 2 other important things. One of which is my portfolio for an internship which I have this summer. I have a few studios in mind and hope that when they see my portfolio they will have me in mind too. Here is some stuff I am throwing together for that.

AA Design Pack.

It seems like it has been ages since I last posted some content, and it will probably be another long while until the next one. This year I am taking on a few different tasks, and am hoping to come out with a bunch of art work and credentials under my belt. Without further interruption..

This is the Final Animatic for the Action Analysis (AA) Assignment for Third Year. The AA is the precursor to my Third Year Group Film. For the Group Film I working with a lovely group of individuals, many of which are my closest friends, so it is going to be a very exciting experience. We are currently nailing a story, then is on to design. Keep an eye out for all of that.
This AA Reel is as polished as most of it is going to get. I will be animating for the section where the dog jumps, and digital colouring it. Before I get to that step I have got to come up with some final designs, which will be up here soon.

This is a concept image for my Action Anaylsis. I hope to get some BC sketches up soon. I kinda hit the ground running with school, work and animation council stuff and haven't had time for a decent upload yet.

I hate to admit that I am not a big reader. I always find it kind of boring and it causes my eyes to hurt if I do it for a prolonged time. Though I am not a reader, every now and again I purchase a book that seems interesting to me. I rarely finish them or quite often toss them in a drawer and never let them see the light of day.
The case with Rankin's Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse (HCBA), is just that, except 3 years after purchasing it I picked it up and read it start to finish, and did so this weekend. HCBA was quite a funny read, and right from the first few paragraphs I wanted to draw the main characters, which is what you see above. So I guess, call these fanart or some sorts.

I also want to get Flash us and running to do some quickies for a portfolio and I also want to do a nice (epic) digital painting before the summer's end.

I would like to thank Kris for the couscous and leaving a ball point pen at my place.
It has been ages since I have seriously draw in pen and I forgot I loved the feel of it. Someone needs to go mall drawing and bust it out...
and that someone is ME!
I also plan on watercolouring some buildings tomorrow. If it goes through they will be posted, if not you will see them this weekend.

3D Done, Year 2 Done, Summer begins!

My Art-pologies.

I have not been as frequent as I would like with these and haven't even thought about a caricature. I am in crunch time for school and spent all yesterday in campus security because someone stole my backpack. Don't worry, all is well in the world and justice was brutally served as if Batman himself were there.
Here is what I have been up too..

Science Damn You, Winter!

Take your room. Open all the windows and let winter drift in. Now, turn on your A/C and set it relatively cold. Done that? GUESS WHAT!? My apartment is probably colder than yours!
I lie, but it is still damn cold, and distracting. I have on 3 layers of socks and am wrapped from head to toe in a puffy blanket with only my face and hands exposed. My room is screwed beyond belief.

Tonight was intended to be a homework-crushing night. But working in extreme winter-like cold is near impossible. I will post my accomplishments for the eve (and earlier this week) and let you look at it and laugh as I did not have as an effective night as I had wished for. Blasted cold.

Kitchen Layout

Technically you have seen this, but this is the cleaned up line work for the final. You will notice the missing table and bowl. They are the overlay and held-cel for the assignment and I didn't feel like scanning them.

Character Design

I have an otter. He crushes clams and eats them on his tummy as well as squishes his face in many cute ways.

Painting

Our next assignment is a still life (whoopee....) we had to do one in class, this is what I turned out in under 2 hours. Not awful. My final for this project should be up next week.

Self

Everyone's favourite turtle murdering Italian brothers from Brooklyn. Tonight we watched Super Mario Brothers (live -action movie) at school. Obviously my inspiration, among other art I have seen. Woot!

That is all I have to say. My animation is on hold for the night, but soon I will crush it like a clam shell on my belly. Oh, otters.

I didn't want to make a new post for it. I finished my coloured Pink Panther Walk Cycle and added sound in Digital tools class today, and here it is!
