I got really inspired by school-yard chum, Leisha-Marie. It seems she has been playing around with a cool black ink line/ offset flat colour thingy. I wanted to give it a shot. I would suggest you go back and look at her work here!
Speaking of friends doing cool stuff, Andrew and Adam have been doing awesome stuff with their podcast, Guys With Pencils. If you're into this whole cartoony, drawey, paintey bologne I suggest you listen in and go get inspired.

I've been wicked busy but have had the chance to design a friends tattoo. I put a watermark so no one can get the same tattoo as her.

I recently took part in the 24-Hour Manimation Fest. This entire short film was made in approximately 24 hours between August 6th and 7th. The theme for this round was 'coveted'. The last time I did a 24 hour film I did it a little differently. This one is more film-like, rather than a rough test. You can also go here to see a bunch of other 24 Hour Films. It is impressive to see what others have come up with in such a short time.

Also a very special 'Thank You' to Ashlyn Antsee, who organized the whole ordeal and kept us all motivated throughout the very long day.

Though it premiered many moons ago in the States, Jake has finally come to Canada. This is the children's show I have been dedicating many hours of my life on. The series is drawing to it's end of production and I am so happy that everyone finally has the chance to see what hard work the studio has been putting in. If you have young kids, I suggest you make them check it out. The show airs on Disney Junior (previously Playhouse TV)It would be nice for them to support the show, and 2D animation in general!

Time for a Classic:
The Sketch Dump

These were a few quick sketches I did while sitting at Wizard World Toronto. I still want to do a nice blog post summing up my first experience attending a convention as a seller. Maybe I will get to that this coming week. I might do a painting based on that Batman and Robin.


This last bit is a few observation sketches. The first lot are from my weekend sketch trips to Second Cup in the Market. I try and get down there every weekend. The Life drawings which follow the sketches are from the Sandy Hill Community Centre. They offer $4 Life Drawing every Wednesday night. I unfortunately did the gestures in blue pencil and the camera isn't taking them.
